Linda Negus - Centre Director

I hold an Advanced Diploma in Childcare and a Diploma of Business (Frontline Management). I have been working with children for the last fifteen years and have spent the last ten years as a Centre Manager in the areas of long day care and Outside school Hours Care.

I have undertaken several hours of professional development to enrich my learning. I am very passionate about building strong teams with a common goal of working with families and children to provide best practice learning experiences. When we are working with children we are embracing a future generation. I look forward to getting to know you all personally.

Stephanie O'Brien

Hello everyone, my name is Stephanie O’Brien and I have been working in Child Care for the last ten years. I have been a Lead Educator for nine of those years working mainly with children in the 15month – 2.5 year age group.

I am very passionate about learning as much as I can about your child and families so that I can develop your child’s learning around their interests.

Please feel free to speak to me at any time regarding any concerns, feedback or comments that you may have.  I encourage you and your families to participate in our program at any time.  This might include doing things like spending time in the room, showcasing your talents (music, craft etc.) or even written input (email, parent suggestion box).

I look forward to getting to know you all and sharing your child’s learning journey at Fairfield Waters Early Learning.

Hi, I’m Maria and I was born and raised here in Townsville. Since I was 7 years old, I have been involved with Girl Guides. Through Girl Guides, I have gained my Leader qualifications to become a Qualified Leader. I help to run a Girl Guide Unit here in Townsville over in Wulguru. With them, I have also completed my Duke of Edinburgh Award (BRONZE, SILVER AND GOLD awards). I graduated high school in 2010 from SMMC and went straight into the childcare industry. I have gained my Certificate III and Diploma of Children’s Services. I have worked in various childcare centres doing placements and have worked at Outside School Hours Care for six years. In 2019, I enrolled at Central Queensland University and am currently completing my Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood, to hopefully become a Kindergarten/Prep Teacher, and to also enrich my own learning about working with children. I am excited to share what I’m learning in my own classroom. If I’m not studying, I also enjoy taking photos and videos and editing videos. As well as spending time with friends. I look forward to working with each and every family and your children at Fairfield Waters Early Learning and helping them grow into confident, positive young role-models.

Alice Khong

Hi my name is Alice Khong and I am currently studying my Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care

I began working in childcare because I love educating and caring for children.  I aspire to help each child learn and grow in their own individual way.  I also began working in childcare for the most important reason, I love children.  I was born in England and moved to Townsville in 2007 to attend school.  I now live with my partner and our five fur babies.  I have a great passion for traveling around the world, as well as a love for music from different cultures.

Simon Conway

"Linda and her team at Fairfield Waters Early Learning go above and beyond what we ever expected of a daycare centre.  Our little girl, Ariana, has been attending since she was four and a half months old and she absolutely loves her teachers!  They accommodated our request to use modern cloth nappies and also paid particular attention to her feeding requirements as she was on a prescription formula without any issues at all.  It’s nerve-racking with your first child when you contemplate leaving them in someone else’s care, yet as soon as we walked into the centre for the first time we knew straight away that we were comfortable with Linda and her team."
